Waste Busters-Towards a cleaner tomorrow!

Palletization technology provides easier and better handling of fuel after crushing and grinding. Pellets are made of biomass (rice husk, bagasse, cotton sticks and saw dust) and MSW with different ratio and MSW moisture was reduced by addition of different concentration of biomass. The physical and chemical characteristics of pellets have been analyzed in R&D project to foresee its burning behavior. Parameters defined were included as moisture contents, ash, volatile matter, fixed carbon, percentage of carbon, hydrogen, total sulfur, gross and net calorific value. The thermal efficiency of RDF was evaluated by using fire clay stove and found 14.11% with minimum environmental emissions. Results depicted that optimization of biomass and MSW ratio defined the good results for the application of RDF as alternative energy fuel..

The product named-Pulsar- is an economical and portable water purifier having two components- filtration media and sterilizer. Pulsar would clean dirty water from water sources such as rain water, pond water, river water and/or canal water by removing its turbidity, solids and improving its colour quality. At the bottom of the tank, there is novel plasma microreactor fitted capable of producing and dosing ozone and other active species directly into the water thereby sterilizing the water to make pathogen free and meet WHO standards for drinking water.
