GLOBAL PARTNERS OF THE GCIP FOR SMES IN PAKISTAN
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) united 183 countries in partnership with international institutions, civil society organizations (CSOs), and the private sector to address global environmental issues while supporting national sustainable development initiatives. An independently operating financial organization, the GEF provides grants for projects related to biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, the ozone layer, and persistent organic pollutants.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability. The mandate of UNIDO is to promote and accelerate sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition. UNIDO's vision is a world where economic development is sustainable and economic progress is equitable.
The CleanTech Open is not-for-profit organization that runs the world's largest accelerator for CleanTech start-ups with mission to find, fund, and foster entrepreneurs with big ideas that address today's most urgent energy, environmental, and economic challenges. A network of more than 2,000 volunteers powers this process: remarkable professionals who lend their time and expertise to entrepreneurs, facilitating the growth of the CleanTech industry and the positive impact that will come from such technologies.
NATIONAL PARTNERS OF THE GCIP FOR SMES IN PAKISTAN
The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) is mandated to advise the Government on the development of Science and Technology at the national level. The Council is involved in S&T Policy making, planning, implementation and in carrying out policy studies. PCST is also the secretariat of National Commission of Science and Technology (NCST), headed by the Prime Minister (which takes the major decisions for the development of S&T). The PCST works as a “Think Tank” to identify the priority areas of research and development keeping in view the futuristic developments of science and technology in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM) is the pioneer of executive development in Pakistan and specializes in the training and development of managers from business and industry. Its primary mission is to serve the growing and complex needs of organizational managers and to enhance their managerial skills through training, consultancy and research.
The National Productivity Organization (NPO) operates under the umbrella of Ministry of Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan. It facilitates to enhance productivity with quality & innovation by introducing and implementing programmes for the socio-economic development in the manufacturing and service sector of Pakistan. The NPO focuses on the development of human capital and organization excellence for building knowledge- based society through training, system development and best practices.
